"Nothing changes if nothing changes"

Counselling provides us with an opportunity to achieve real change in our lives. Although we cannot alter what has already happened to us, we can through counselling, improve our understanding of the past, gain increased insight into the present and take greater control of the future.

The counselling room can provide a safe environment to think about the changes we would like to see in our lives and consider ways in which we can make those changes happen. Working with a professional therapist, clients can also decide how to develop and maintain those changes.

Counselling can be challenging but it can also be rewarding. Counselling or therapy provides a place where clients can explore sensitive personal issues within a secure and confidential space

To gain the most from time spent in the counselling room, clients will want to ensure that they work with a therapist who is professionally trained. Clients can be confident that Counsellors who are an Accredited Member of a recognised professional body such as the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) have demonstrated that they have undergone formal training and assesment.

Counsellors who are Accredited Members of professional bodies such as BACP are committed to ongoing professional development. They also have to adhere to published ethical practice standards.
